Time for Bears!

Sciatica’s kicked up, so I dragged my heaviest bear to the studio using my dollar-store sled.

It’s dark. Dreary. Cold. Snowing every day. Then there’s the isolation with the Covid-19. Crappy tulips (or none at all) at the grocery store. And there are only so many plein air paintings I can do of the frozen creek! Decided it was high-time to gather up some of my bears for a still life.

Setting up a still life arrangement is nearly as difficult as painting it. Sometimes it takes days.

This is as far as I got before the light failed. And I’m also trying something new: toning the big canvas first. Oy — that’s a job, too! Stay tuned….
