Painting at Fountain Point

Hot and humid! Crooked Tree Art Center invited some artists to come and paint at Fountain Point. At the northern tip of Lake Leelanau, Fountain Point is a vintage resort, visited by generations. All of us painters instinctively headed for the shadiest spots we could find!

This is typical of the cabins at Fountain Point. Families rent them by the week. When I started this painting the sun was shining and there were shadows. From past experience, I knew to get those patterns going first thing. Clouds were moving in fast!
