Symbolically I think this painting represents our chaotic world in the pandemic crisis.
When I came into the studio this morning I looked at the painting and thought it needed something. Something to guide the eyes, something to create a sort of swirl to the composition. Just adding another colored bowl or cup wouldn’t do. Then I knew what it needed: feathers! The “stripey” black & white patterns of the feathers echo the blue & white patterns of the basket. And the curve of the bananas is repeated in the curve of the feathers. Turkey feathers saved the day!
