Deciphering the Snarls

Yes, that’s a big cup of high-test coffee you see next to the roll of paper towels! I’d been saving the best for last – or avoiding? – that mad snarl of scarf, grapes and basket. Yes, I complain, but in truth I’m -addicted to complicated still lifes. Especially when it appears the world’s gone-to-hell-in-a-handbasket. If I set up a difficult still life and manage to figure it out and paint it, it’s like I’ve solved at least a tiny portion of the world’s ills. Hey – some people love jigsaw puzzles, I like to make my own, in a fashion.
