Gennett Road – Willows

“Gennett Road – Willows” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8×10″ by Margie Guyot

Winter stubbornly holds on, but at least the sun broke through the clouds, shocking us all. I threw my paints into the truck and headed north along Old Dixie Highway. Turned right at Gennett Road, in search of Amazing Views. That’s what we artists do: search for Amazing Views. Gotta have that Wow factor. Or it’s not worth painting. For me, the Wow factor of the day was the smattering of orange-rusty, willows up on the hillside. Kind of like a a little poof! in a sea of grays. Like when you see the first crocus of spring. Sigh.…. Hurry, Spring!
