I kept looking at this painting (detail above), thinking something wasn’t right. Finally realized the perspective on the butterfly case was off. So I wiped off what I could, then painted over the area. Two of the three butterflies had to be “erased”. When it’s dry (a couple days?) I’ll re-do. It’s easy to have difficulties with perspective when you’re drawing from life, looking down at your setup. Every time you look, step back to draw on your canvas, then step back and look down, it’s at a slightly different vantage point. But I’m sure I’ll be able to figure this one out!
PERSPECTIVE – I spent more than 65 years not realizing the impact of this word on life and everyday activities. It is easy to see how it would impact your painting.
