Butterflies – Day 3

This was a rare find in a junk shop last summer. I knew it’d be interesting to add to a painting. Kind of tough to draw in, but it helped keep my mind off politics.

First I drew in the general shape, then the wires. Then began adding the butterflies. Eventually I reached the point where I had to tackle something easier for a while: the background cloth!
