Day 2: Mr. Wonderful

The photograph I’d been working from showed Mr. Wonderful’s back fur as being rather light. But the fur on his back was really quite dark. Almost black. So I was trying to get that effect.

As for the background, I picked out a scrap of fabric I’d used in an earlier painting of a pumpkin. Yes, I could have just gone with a plain, neutral background. Or grass. But I wanted something rather bright and lively. When this peachy background color is dry, I’ll add the blue. Mr. Wonderful had his bright and lively (dare I say “mischievous”)_side. Alas, dear friends, he is gone….
