Ah — those illusive colors! It’s been a struggle for me. The constantly-changing light and the cats rearranging things haven’t helped. This afternoon I was wondering if I’ll EVER paint this thing satisfactorally. Frustrated, I finally had to take a break and go out and work on my blackberry patch. Have a cup of coffee. Phone a friend. When I returned to the studio I finally I noticed something unexpected, color-wise: there were shades of lavender here and there! That fabric is very gauzy and lavender was showing up in the folds. Aha! But then it was time to quit for the day. So tomorrow I will tackle this again with high hopes.…
