A Late-Day Quickie in the Swamp

This spot is pretty swampy — just a few feet from the edge of the creek. After finishing the pumpkin still life, I still was in the mood to paint. I’d been holed-up inside the studio for several days and the weather was absolutely beautiful. It’d be a shame to waste it! The snow will be coming soon enough.

A week or so ago I’d cleared a little path running north along the creek, cutting out some of the fallen logs. Since then, I’ve noticed the deer have been using it a lot. (Notice the deer tracks.) Here’s the long view of my setup:
