Day 2: Red Glads

Today was probably the most perfect summer day we’ve had so far: a perfect temperature, low humidity and no flooding, tsunamis, volcanic erupstions, hail, etc. It was so beautiful I toiled in the garden a bit longer than I should have this morning, leaving the gladiolas languishing in the studio. If you look closely at the ones in the vase, you’ll see some heart-breaking wilting going on. I did what I could, then my friend Lucy came by to celebrate her paper on the genetics of red pandas finally getting accepted by the scientific community. I’d promised champagne and we proceeded to get looped on my front porch. So sorry, this is as far as I could get today with the painting. Tomorrow’s another day.

Even the cats had to crash….
