This area’s under an “air quality alert”. Lots of smoke from the Canadian wild fires, so it was a good day to stay inside and work. This may not look all that much different to you than yesterday’s post, but I did work on this all day. I started working on the glass plates and cups and darkening some of the embroidered designs. When I shot this photo at the end of the day, I realized that the gold threads take on quite a different sheen later in the afternoon (from the angle of the sun). Will have to keep that in mind tomorrow.
This painting’s been a toughie! What gave me the courage to keep on with it was from a post I read this morning from the Marginalian. It was about “the trial, triumph and the art of the possible: the remarkable story behind Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”. Worth reading! I leave you with a photo of my loyal cat, Picasso. It’s hard work, being an artist’s cat.
