Day 2: Added Some Cats

Yeah, when in doubt, add a cat. That’s what I always say. Yesterday I whipped out the painting of the orchid in a fast-fury, not really thinking about what to do with the background. Had to rush like crazy to get the colors and light in between rainstorms. Guess that feeling of urgency comes from all the years of doing plein air on location. Anyway, I’d been wondering what to do with the background. I fell back onto my trusted-and-true method of dealing with quandaries: I meditated. Then I saw the answer: add a cat or two! Ah yes, trips to the Peruvian jungle, having visions from San Pedro cactii — that, and possibly a few tricks I learned via the Silva Method of Mind Control (thank you, Ford Motor Company!) have really helped me solve problems. Yes, cats it was.

I haven’t gone too far with the orange cat in the foreground, so don’t get excited! Stay tuned….
