Started this one today. I thought it would be good to get more practice in on painting cats. I’m working from a photo because it’s impossible to get cats to hold a pose.
This is the painting that got me inspired. I did it a year ago. One of my friends has me babysit a few of her houseplants while she winters in Florida. That magnificent plant is some kind of begonia. When it bloomed last year I decided to paint it:
I searched in vain for that same fabric. But I found another piece that will work OK (I think). And the begonia is blooming again.
Mr. Wonderful and Picasso laid on my setup this afternoon, enjoying the bright sunshine (a rare thing around here in winter). Here they are, in between tussling.
I try to avoid working from photos, but it’s a necessity when trying to paint cats. This is what I got so far:
