A Snuggly Cat in a Warm Studio….

Yes, that’s Picasso. And what’s that? More apples? ‘Fraid so, my dears. But at least this time I’ve picked out a different tablecloth.

Drawing it all in is my favorite part. Hard as heck, but somebody’s gotta do it. The fairies certainly won’t. Here’s how things looked after about the first half hour or so:

Notice there have been a number of wipe-outs and re-do’s. I usually start by picking out an object that’s in the center and kind of gauge everything else after that.

And here’s how things looked about 3 hours later. I’ve found it helpful to establish the folds and wrinkles and shadows early, then add the printed patterns in later. Had to quit about 3 PM because it was starting to get too dark to see.

Big snowstorm going on here in northern Michigan. I noticed a ruffed grouse sitting in the high bush cranberry bush in back of the studio. Greedy squirrels had raided most of the berries already. A few still remaining for the grouse….
