Here’s a snippet of the still life I started several days ago. Really, it was too horrid to post. I re-drew it at least 5 times to get the composition right. It’s 24×48″.

After several days of struggling with the drawing, I decided to dive in and start painting some of the corn kernels. One of my friends said she thought painting the kernels would be the hardest. Actually, no — it’s getting the composition right that gave me trouble. That, plus trying to nail down ever-changing rearrangements by the cats. Oh well — we’ve got some chilly, rainy weather here for a few days, so I’m happy to have an indoor project.
I leave you with a favorite saying that’s posted on my studio wall……
