“Homegrown Tomatoes”

Everybody up here in northern Michigan had been whining: the tomatoes aren’t ripe yet! Well, the tomatoes took their sweet time. It was September before they decided to ripen. And they’ve come on with a vengence! These are the most wonderful beefsteak tomatoes – nothing like those awful things they sell in the stores – and I’ve been eating caprese salads twice a day. My handyman started the seeds and gave me two plants back in June.

About a month ago I took a tumble and have been rather “laid up”, unable to get out and trudge along in the swamp, crawling over logs, lugging art supplies, etc. So still life painting has been a godsend. And — just about a month ago one of my beloved cats, Bernie (the Siamese) disappeared. Probably eaten by a coyote. So his cat brothers and I have been sad.

I must admit receiving “good vibrations” from my two cats. Here’s Mr. Wonderful, sending loving thoughts my way:
