Mornings in the Swamp

This is Day 2 for this painting. I realized there is only a short window of time each morning when I can work on this before the angle of the Sun changes everything. So it turns into a mad rush, slinging paint as quickly as possible. I’m set up on one of the boardwalks my handyman built for me. Without it, it’d be next to impossible to get back there — it’s very marshy, with fallen logs and high grasses.

What drew me to this scene was the feeling of peace and quiet. And the patch of goldenrod in the distance.

When the light changes too much, I trundle everything back into the studio and work on other things. Here’s things I worked on today:

And now I suppose I should go back out there, grab that very stale hot dog & bun (on the far lower left) and take it out to the compost pile. Every night some critter comes and gobbles up his free dinner.
