Are Eight Hot Dogs Enough?

I think eight are enough for this season. Every morning when I’d get ready to paint, I’d set a bun with a hot dog on my work table and immediately the cats would go into a frenzy. So I’d have to run into the house and grab another hot dog, cut it up and put on a little saucer for them. Oh, of course they didn’t want it then! Sigh.

Yesterday I asked people for suggestions for what to add. Somebody suggested a “Chicago hot dog”. I googled it and found photos. Egads — how can a person eat something like that? Tomatoes, pickles — just about everything you could pile onto it. Ach — well, they can have it. Back when I used to eat hot dogs (!) I liked onions & mustard.

Then, to clear my head, I dragged my easel out into the swamp and started a new one. A bit of a challenge. It’s something like 14×46″. So we’ll see what happens.

As if things weren’t exciting enough, a huge, dead tree crashed to the ground not 25 feet away!

My newly-constructed bridge is on the right. And it missed a little birch tree I’d planted last month by only about 12 inches. Yes, the excitement never seems to end!
