Apricots

“Apricots” — oil on canvas 10×10″ by Margie Guyot

I had so much fun painting cucumbers yesterday that I had to run out to the nearest farmer’s market today and buy some apricots. I chose these because they were far more colorful. There was another variety that was basically a solid “apricot” color. These looked far more interesting. Again, I used the basket I bought in the jungle next to the Panama Canal. I remember the haggling that went on. My sister-in-law didn’t want me to pay what they were asking. But the man said it took 3 days for his wife to make that basket. Hmmm — I gladly paid him what he asked for. It was worth it!

Here’s what I’ve painted so far in this series. Yes, I’m calling it a series. Maybe tomorrow I’ll paint that vase of gloriosa daisies.
