“Rugosas”

“Rugosas” — oil on canvas 24×24″ by Margie Guyot

The roses are from my garden — and I had to paint fast. They’re at the end of their blooming cycle. And what’s left is falling prey to the greedy Japanese beetles. The blooms are rather simple; it’s the beautiful leaves that I’m most attracted to.

The fabric is certainly a crazy-maker. But it fits what’s going on in the world, doesn’t it?

In case you missed one of my previous posts on this painting, here’s my little studio assistant: Mr. Wonderful. He supervises and rearranges things at will.
