That green “stripe” on the left stuck out like a sore thumb, so I obliterated it. Yes, it was there, but it didn’t look right here. Then I dealt with the big “thistle thingie” in the upper right. I love those “thistles”, but it just didn’t look right here. I ended up painting two yellow coreopsis in its place.
I tinkered and fussed most of the day with this. Added lily pads, darkened the distant trees. Not done yet, but it’s starting to come around. I set my green paint color charts next to this for the photo:
