
It’s been one of those absolutely crazy weeks, driving all over, schlepping paintings hither and yon. The galleries want more 6×6″ iris paintings. But it’s the end of iris season here. The other day I picked my very last iris and did a 6×6″. Then I thought why not do a larger painting? So each day I’ve been wandering out into the yard, looking for possibilities. I’ve only had an hour or two each day to work. Years ago when I was laid off Ford Motor Company’s Wixom Assembly plant (for 4 long years!), I worked as a floral arranger in a shop down in Detroit, so I feel confident about being able to throw together something that looks good. That gloriosa daisy was the first one to open in my yard, so I grabbed it. Let’s see what tomorrow brings…..
