
My friend Sarah called this morning, inviting me to join her to go to Wilderness State Park. She was in search of wild pitcher plants. “Bring your paints along, if you want,” she said. So while she traipsed off down a trail, I set up my easel and painted this. Quite a beautiful area. Here’s my setup:

A long (but interesting) day. It started out a bit chilly and drizzly — I had on long underwear and many layers. By the end of the day it was around 80.
