
Blue skies today! A rarity in these parts. I couldn’t tell you the last time we had a perfectly blue sky. So I decided to let my still life dry for another day or so and grab my painting gear and get outside to paint something. This view is right in back of my studio. I set up on the new bridge the handyman built for me earlier this week. Here’s my setup:

No, I didn’t see any trout. They say this is a trout stream, though. This is the first time I’ve used my new Ugo easel. The only negatives I can say about it: it’s a bit wobbly and the palette holder isn’t good for an oil painter (like me). It folds flat, not allowing much clearance room for blobs of oil paint. Sigh…. Well, I still have my ancient French easel and three Solteks, so I think I’m pretty much set on easels.
