Yes, the title is a little lame, but I couldn’t think of anything else. My brain is fried from painting all those crazy shapes. I think it’s pretty much done, although ya just never know. I could peck on it for a while yet. Still need to paint the sides.
I’m really looking forward to getting out to paint some plein air landscapes! Oh, for a warm, sunny day with green grass and a blooming orchard! All my plein air friends are ready for that, too. We get together every spring for an “orchard painting party”. And then we moan and complain about the trees being planted too “regimentally” — like rows of soldiers. I’d reached the point where I just couldn’t face another dead-brown field with a relentless, cruel wind, feeling my face freezing off. When I was younger I’d waltz through the 6″ snowdrifts, right down to Lake Michigan in the middle of a gale. Ice crystals hitting my face. Having to hold my easel with one hand the whole time so it wouldn’t blow into the water. Yes — been there, done that. Enough already! I’m ready for a glorious, sunny, spring day!
