Egg lady? Chicken lady? At first I called this “The Egg Lady” because she sells eggs. “But we don’t see any eggs!”, friends insisted. Well, OK then! That’s Angie. She’s about a mile down the road from here. If you go to buy eggs, it’s a winding path through the maple trees. Her two dogs bound over to inspect you, trying to lick you to death, and the yard is a flurry of all kinds of chickens and a few fancy show rabbits. A few weeks ago she was holding a chicken while we talked and I knew that view just had to be painted. Yes, portraits are definitely a challenge, but as they say, the first 10,000 are the hardest….
