Working on The Egg Lady

I think this is maybe Day 4 of slugging away on this. I get my eggs from a woman down the road and thought it’d be a lark to try and paint her, holding one of her “children”. Portraits are my last frontier. Quite a challenge, but as they say, the first 10,000 are the hardest — after that, it’s a snap.

Since most of the galleries around here don’t like to take many winter paintings, it’s a great time to practice portraits. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. I plan on being in the studio all day. I finally washed my car yesterday and it’s clean for the first time since I drove it off the showroom floor last October. The rain’s moving in tonight, predicted to hang around all day tomorrow. A good day to stay home and put my nose to the grindstone.

Another question, dear readers: do you prefer “Chicken Lady” or “Egg Lady”?
