Ah — a very quiet, peaceful afternoon out here in the “boonies”. This is right on the side of my house and I’ve always loved the view. Had to set up and paint it this afternoon. We’ve enjoyed relatively balmy temperatures the past few days after a blizzard roared through about a week ago. Everybody’s happy to see a little warmup, but we know winter’s far from over yet. February and even March can have some surprises. Behind me, a couple does and a fawn have come to feed on apples at the edge of the driveway. A pileated woodpecker comes to the suet feeder and I imagine the resident possum(s) living under the potting shed are grateful for the cat kibble I leave them every afternoon.

As I began carrying everything back into the studio, the fog started rolling in. Here’s the view from my front yard:
