“Dreams of Ecstasy”

“Dreams of Ecstasy” — oil on canvas 24 x 30″ by Margie Guyot

The skies were a dismal-gray all week. Snow, rain and gloominess reigned. It was a perfect week to tackle something wild and colorful. There are only so many snowy landscape paintings I can bear to do! And once again, the cat is my favorite: dear Picasso, rescued as a baby kitten from the middle of the road about 14 years ago. That’s a poncho from my closet in the background. The rose blossoms were painted in a freakout-fury, all in one day. I knew they’d be toast within a day or two (and I was right). I ended up having to look at the leaves in a previous painting to see how to paint them. So it was kind of a fun challenge for the week.
