
Such a gorgeous day today! I felt like just staying home and trying to find something to paint right here. I’d just hung a load of clothes out on the line and decided it was fascinating...
Here’s my setup. Sorry — the clouds rolled in right then, obliterating the shadow patterns.

Next, I took a little stroll down my driveway and decided this view would be interesting to paint:

Lately I’ve noticed the sky has looked rather surprising. There have been pale, nearly colorless clouds way high up, then the dramatic gray-and-white clouds below, and then snatches of the blue sky. Today the highest clouds were coming from the West while the lower clouds were coming from the Northeast. Anyway, I thought it was strange. At first I painted the colorless “ceiling” clouds the pale gray but then I decided no —- I’m changing it to blue.
Several deer families passed by, checking me out. I guess they were wondering what that strange contraption was out in their driveway.
