After dropping off two still life paintings to Three Pines Studio, up in Cross Village, I cruised around some of the back roads and decided to paint this view. I hadn’t been up that way in quite a few years and had forgotten how beautiful that part of Michigan is. This road is south of the village of Good Hart. I’d stopped there for a cup of coffee and to browse the two gift shops. Sadly, they seemed stocked with stuff made in China.
Of course you must be curious about the two paintings I dropped off at Three Pines, right? They have a big pumpkin extravaganza there every October, specializing in hand-blown, locally-made jack-o-lanterns. I thought these two paintings might fit in:

feathers, gourd, pinky red floral background; stupendous, startling, super duper, salient and satisfactory jim gibbons
