Did I really want to coil 1000 feet of hoses today? Nooooo! Drain the fountains? Wrestle with the deer fences? Oh, hell no! The possibility of rain had been forecast, but the sky remained fairly clear. So that was a go-ahead for going out painting! This cute little cottage is right on Lake Michigan, just south of Norwood. I especially liked how the bright light bounced off the lake through the cedar trees. Every once in a while a glimmer of sunshine would filter through the trees and fall on the front porch. And the lawn was one of those enviable well-behaved ones: it grows in the shade and doesn’t grow fast or very tall. My lawn on the other hand, is some kind of super-charged wild stuff that wants to conquer the world. Strong enough to break the teeth of any deer gusty enough to try to chew it. So it was a nice afternoon at the lake, looking at a well-behaved lawn and ignoring my long list of chores….
Here’s my setup:

This is absolutely splendid! One of my very favorites!! Contentment. Peace, Beauty. You just feel in your bones that whoever this cabin’s people are, they are happy.
