
A day of yardwork. I kept watching the sky, waiting for the clouds to pass so I could go painting. It would clear up, but 10 minutes later it’d be totally cloud-covered again. I got a lot of yardwork done, at least! Finally around 4 PM it was all blue sky. I was sore and worn-out, but I grabbed my gear, had a Tylenol and took off down the road. N. Brinkers Road is only about 3 miles north of here, running parallel to Lake Michigan. There are some beautiful lakeside cottages on that road. Luckily there is also very little traffic. I brazenly sat my easel up in the middle of the road and painted away. You never notice how quickly shadows move until you try to paint them!
