Day 6: Interruptions Galore

It’s been a challenge to carve out time to finish this painting. Must be something in the stars? Yesterday I sauntered out to the studio, looking forward to working on this. I also had some varnishing and framing a bunch of paintings to take to a gallery. Then I also needed to move a bunch of flowers that had popped up in my veggie garden. When my handyman and his son showed up at 9 AM, I wondered why are they working on a Sunday? Eeek! So it was really Monday? Guess I’d flunk the sobriety test. Can’t remember what the heck day it is. They’d come to construct a couple more raised beds out in the veggie garden. I set my brush down and spent the next few hours hastily digging out flowers that would surely be trampled –you know how guys are! Then the next 4 hours I had to replant everything in a different area of the yard. Then water everything. Today I had to finish framing paintings, type an inventory/price list and pack them into my truck. THEN I finally got back to work on this one. I’m really looking forward to getting back to doing some plein air landscapes!
