
Fisherman’s Island is on the right; the mainland is on the left. The blue in the distance is the little town of Northport at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula. People say the water had been low enough years ago it was possible to walk over to the island on a narrow path of rocks. This is a beautiful state park just south of Charlevoix with plenty of beaches, hiking trails and camping. If you want to paint water, this is where to go.
Ach — hot and windy today! And no shade!. Impossible to wear a hat — it would have blown away. Same for an umbrella. So I had to stuggle with painting waves while being pummeled with CLOUDS OF DUST as cars lumbered by. Boo-hoo. Poor me. So much for clean hair.
Water won’t hold still. I really should paint it more often. They say that by the time you do something 10,000 times, you’re an expert. OK then….
