Lilacs in the Rain

It was a hot week. Up to around 90 some days. Painting had to wait while I worked like a dawg, planting my veggie garden. Thunderstorms passed to the south just about every day. I’d see huge thunderclouds and hear distant rumbling towards Traverse City, but we got barely a sprinkle here in Eastport until today. This afternoon the fog rolled in and I set up my easel in the driveway to paint a lilac bush. Not five minutes after I’d put everything away and got back into the house the rain started up again. Theoretically I’ll cut the grass this weekend.
